Compassionate Dictatorship

Compassionate Dictatorship is born out of the collaboration between Jez Franks and Tori Freestone who have been playing and writing together since 1993 with performances including the London Jazz Festival, Haskovo Jazz Festival (Bulgaria) and various UK tours. Described as ''catching the ardent wave of Brit Jazz''' by Jazzwise Magazine, this guitar and sax led quartet play original material that draws from a wide and eclectic range of influences from folk to free and contemporary jazz, creating fresh sounds and textures within interesting harmonic frameworks and varied meters, blending four distinct voices into one.
“This new band is another vital example of UK musicians embracing and incorporating both free jazz and rock elements into an edgy, risk taking approach to their music" Jazzwise
