CHRIS BOWDEN QUARTET
Chris Bowden emerged on the Birmingham jazz scene around 2000 and quickly showed himself to be one of the most original and exciting young players on the scene. Birmingham Jazz picked him out as a player to watch and supported him to establish himself in the Midlands. His playing style shows  influences as diverse as Lee Konitz and Ornette Coleman. His style shows  him to be at ease with bebop to more contemporary styles or gentle reflective music. Chris moved to national prominence in 2003 when a poll of national jazz critics voted his CD 'Slightly Askew' as one of the albums of the year. Chris continues working mainly in the Midlands largely with a trio but has recently added pianist Steve Tromans.

"Chris Bowden goes to infinity and beyond. The world just won't sound the same again."
